My Approach
My approach to counselling is integrative, drawing from person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural techniques, and mindfulness-based practices. I work collaboratively with clients, respecting individual experiences, cultural contexts, and personal goals, while supporting emotional growth, self-awareness, and healthy coping strategies.
Person-Centred
Placing your experiences, values, and goals at the centre of the counselling process.
Empathetic & Non-Judgemental
Offering a warm, respectful space where you can speak openly and feel understood.
DBT-Informed
Incorporating practical DBT skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Trauma-Informed
Recognising the impact of trauma and prioritising emotional safety, choice, and empowerment.
Strengths-Based
Building on your existing strengths and resources to support resilience and growth.
Duration of Counselling
Counselling is typically short-term and goal-focused, depending on individual needs and circumstances. Some clients benefit from only a few sessions, while others may choose to engage for a longer period to work through more complex challenges. The duration and focus of counselling are discussed and reviewed collaboratively throughout the process.
